Hi. I too have been having problems with the GP7 repaint. As mentioned before, the SAL model works fine and I've downloaded it from both sites. All of the other repaints load correctly and work beautifully. (Thank you very much for those BTW). I have followed the instructions to the letter each time. I have installed, deleted, reinstalled numerous times but get the same error at the same point. When I click on the engine in the list all is fine, but as soon as I attempt placing the unit on the track I'll get the error message stating: "Something bad happened..." and it generates a dump file and RW shuts down.

Hopefully someone will think of something. Meanwhile I am enjoying Michael's other engines on the P&LE. Thanks again Michael. :)

I sent an email to Michael with some more detail on the problem. Hopefully we can work this one out.

I have had a strange thing happen with these repaints. I cannot select one of the P&LE GP7's and place it on the track on my home computer. But, with the same files downloaded and installed, they work just fine on my office computer. I have tried to analyze the problem, but there are just too many variables. In other words, I don't have a clue what is causing this.

I sent Michael another email today after finding another address to use off of his website. The only thing I have been able to find is the file/folder structure of these new repaints are different from his earlier BN/CB&Q repaints that do work on my system. Hopefully that email finds him and he can help further.

I see on a thread at another site that people are having the same exact issue as I am with a new set of UP Heritage repaints for the SD70ACe. The sim crashes when they try to place the locomotive in the sim. Hopefully once they find the fix we can duplicate that for these repaints to see if it is a common type of problem.

That's the same for me. The game always crashes when the SD70ACE heritage Assets are in the Railworks folder. I deleted them for now and Railworks works *!!wink!!* fine again.

Colleagues,

After months of head scratching and hair pulling, the puzzle of the working (for some) and non-working (for some others) GP7 repaints has been solved by Otto on the trainsim forums. See here for more details: http://forums.trainsim.com/vbts/showthr ... -Railworks

The reason is simple enough: my later repaints seem to alias some of Bill's zebra stripe ATSF engines' parts. So if you install these, my repaints will show up too. What a mess! I will put together a patch as soon as I can, trying to replace all the ATSF aliases to GP7-SAL aliases and see how that works.

Sorry for this trouble!

Happy new year to all of you!

Michael,

After installation of the ATSF repaints I am now able to fully enjoy your P&LE/NYC GP7's. Thanks much (and to Otto)!

Any chance of getting some of these GP'7's in the Rock Island paint?

One like this would be great
