Out now: PRR Heritage Freight Sets!

Unread postby GreatNortherner » Thu Mar 04, 2010 9:29 pm

Available now at Golden Age of Railroading:

The PRR Heritage Freight Sets (PRR, PC, CR)

Including:
- PRR class X50 boxcars (50ft)
- PRR class X58 boxcars (50ft)
- PRR class G39 ore jennies
- PRR class N8 cabin cars (cabooses)

Each car has some different details and different degrees of weathering, reflecting the modifications these cars have seen over the long period of their service. Real roster numbers are included for each type of car and railroad company. The caboose has an inside ("passenger") view and the ore gondola has an animated load, you can use the default coal loader (transfer point) and unloader with it.

Each set includes several different variations of these four models, painted and detailed to match their prototypes as much as possible.

Some preview pictures:

The PRR set, including 2 PRR and 2 LV versions of the X58 (each one normal and one insulated car, both with roofwalks and high mounted brake wheels), two PRR versions of the X50, four PRR versions of the G39 and G39A and ten cabooses in five liveries, each with and without trainphone antenna.

The PC set, with two LV and five PC versions of the X58 (three in PC green paint schemes, one patched over PRR, one MOW car - all with some changes to the model, like cut-off roofwalks or lowered brake wheels), three PC versions of the X50, four PC versions of the G39(A) and three N8 cabooses, all without trainphone (had been replaced by normal radio before PC)

Finally, the CR set: six X58s, all without roofwalks now, two in heavily weathered PRR/PC paint schemes, the rest in four different CR ones. The X50 comes in five generic paint schemes, the ore hoppers are all painted (or patched) for Conrail. Three CR painted cabooses included.

Awesome Michael, I was just talking about doing a PRR route and we wondered where we get the rollingstock from. Way to go! - Rich G

Thanks everybody!

A wooden caboose, even though B&O and not PRR, is available right here: http://railworksamerica.com/fl/rl-st2.html
For PRR stuff I'm hoping Thomas Pearce will one day do a Railworks-conversion of his very fine N5s.

A few more detail shots of the freight sets:

Breathtaking, Michael !!*ok*!!

I'll run these fine models on the Ft Kent, for now, but a PRR route (say, like the Horseshoe Curve) would provide a real showcase. Your prolific production is inspiring.

Keep 'em coming!
