Through Tinted Glass

20161022211539_1.jpg

While setting out some hoppers the crew of GP40-2 6904 catches a passing manifest with one of the SD40-2's traded to CSX by Norfolk Southern, in the near future it will be rebuilt as an SD40-3.
(I shot this from behind the glass from the cab of 6904)

A loaded rock train waits for southbound rock empties to cross over at Cypress Creek before continuing its northbound journey. Leading the rock loads is one of CSX's former AC6000CWs, as the locomotives original 6,000 HP 7HDL power-plant has been replaced, downgrading it to 4,600 HP in the process. On the point of the empty rock train is one of 12 former Conrail 5000 HP SD80MACs on the CSX roster. The SD80MAC era on the CSX will soon be over though. All will be traded to NS in exchange for 12 SD40-2s.

SD40-2 Local

How about a local working the Adriana County Sub? I like using this route to operate similar to the CSX line near me.

Movin' Tomorrow
The CSX tracks in Fort Lauderdale are quite busy in the evening of March 4th, 2014. A CSX Ballast train in notch 8 highballs to West Palm Beach while a coal train on the opposite track slowly chugs behind it in notch 5 along the Florida sunset.

OK all the prizes are sent, be careful of O's and 0's O's and Zeros.

Was a very difficult judging for me. Great shots, all of them.

That's all it takes, plenty of contest to come around. You were up against some stiff competition this round.

I have to say best round of pics yet to everyone, even though my favorite didn't win. !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!! !*salute*!

Congratulations to the winners! Even though I didn't win, this was my first RWA contest I participated in. Better try again next time...

I'll have to wait and get Pioneers Edition at a lower price on Steam...
