Scenario scripting guide

Unread postby Chacal » Wed Aug 13, 2014 10:22 am

Here's an excellent and comprehensive tutorial on how to add advanced event handling in your scenarios. It helps to fill the void created by the cpmplete lack of official documentation of this feature.

The author is by Rudolf Heijink (RudolfJan).

The guide includes several links to additional material.

The guide is a pdf file inside a zip file inside another zip file, which opens easily using 7zip but sometimes will throw an error when trying to open it using the Windows built-in zip handler.

I didn't want to zip it, but was obliged by both RWA and UKTS to wrap it in zip. Sorry for the inconvenience, but its a good entry test for doing lua scripting. You will experience lots of frustration. !*hp*!

No problem and thanks for your work.
You are welcome to upload new versions of your tutorial when you have more information.
For some missing information, there are some posts here at RWA that may address it.

I'm getting a "does not seem to be a valid archive" message whether I try to open the file directly or save it and then open it. I must be missing something? (No nasty suggestions needed.)

Been there; done that. I tried downloading it with WinZip 18.5 -- several times -- always getting the message mentioned above. !**conf**!

This guide was replaced by Rudolf's scenario author's guide part III.
The guide is now in the RWA file library here.
I have the 3 parts into a single zip file, along with the example scenarios.
