WVRR1964's Stuff

While I realize this is a bit premature with me just learning the program, I thought I'd share some of the models I've made. The following are Blender renders. I plan on making a pack of power lines and light poles. These are only a few examples of what I actually made.

Now I'll I need is the knowledge on how to get them into TS2014. !*don-know!*

These look very nice.
You probably know this already, but poly count has a huge performance impact in RW.
Poles and wires tend to proliferate quickly, so bear that in mind and use LODs.

As a first step to getting your models in the game, you need to understand RW concepts such as blueprints.
The bible for that is RSC's developer docs, which used to be available from the support page on RSC's web site.
I just noticed they are no more, I sent an e-mail to support about it. If they don't turn up, I'll put them up here on RWA.

I'm sure there will be a lot of tweaking needed to get these into the program...I need to learn the basics first.

Just a suggestion since you are doing power lines and stuff, here is a type that is found everywhere from where I am from. This isn't a request, just a suggestion.

I do have something similar made...

But it wouldn't be hard at all to make the power line in your picture.

Perhaps as a first task as a creator in this sim can be to make a streetscape pack with poles, lights, signs and traffic signals...just a thought.

That is a brilliant idea! There really is never enough small details like that available. I think I will look around to give you some good ideas on some of the other things and small details. Possibly mail/post boxes, fire hydrants, newspaper stands....etc?

Yes, please post pictures of ideas...I'm still a little while away from adding content to the sim but it's a good idea to start coming up with ideas.

I believe it's those small details on a route that make it interesting.

Decals for manholes, drain covers, etc.
Trash cans, trash bags.
Old rusting cars on blocks, for certain parts of the U.S.
Snowmobiles and ATVs.

Trash cans and trash bags...now there is something I never thought of before. !!*ok*!!

Cars on the other hand are the thorn in my paw. I've made several attempts at making cars and failed miserably every time...I guess I'm too picky about how they look. It's too bad because older car & trucks are something that is really needed for time period routes.
That leads me to another idea I had today...Making time period packs. Content packs for say the 1930's up to the 1970's. It would take more creative minds then just myself to create something like that though.

We have plenty of cars already, so don't fret over it.
I like your idea of time period packs.

If the assets had the same names, it would even be possible to switch a route from a time period to another by just installing the proper pack!
