Comming Soon: HV Power Line Lofts

Unread postby spec5sx » Wed May 02, 2012 9:07 pm

Available soon for route builders, a set of seven high voltage power line lofts for use in your routes.
Once I have tweaked the designs to my satisfaction, I will upload them to the F/L.

Why is it that in many mid-Western US railroad settings the long and straight tracks through the prairie and wide open spaces are often paralleled by multiple high tension powerlines?
Did the power companies lease (part of) the right of way from the railroads, i.e. the air space? Do the railroads gain addition income by these long term leases?

Seen in this aspect, your HV power line lofts are most welcome indeed. Do the wires curve like the code lines/telegraph wires when strung along a curving path?

You pretty much answered your own question. Utility companies look for the most direct route from
generating plants to their customers. Railroad right of ways are custom made for them.
Billboard companies also lease railroad property for their outdoor structures "signs"
I would like to see more billboards in RW. Could someone make a 14X48FT.
single pole structure, Lighted? !!*ok*!!

I've finalized the designs and will upload them to the F/L in the next day or so.
This is what's in the finished product:
