Pedestrian Reskins & Police/Sheriff Ped

Unread postby PullmanCar » Sun Jan 22, 2023 4:36 pm

Might anyone here be able to give any insight into reskinning people? The way the textures unwrap I find it difficult to place the face of a person over many of the existing pedestrians. I have 1 specific person I would like to reskin for Kalamazoo.

I am also curious if anyone knows of any law enforcement figures of any type (Highway Patrol, Police, Constable, etc), it would be most handy for grade crossing scenes and other wrecks. (For instance I always have a flaming "meth lab" trailer in each scenario and would love police to go with the police cars in TS.)

Pretty sure there are some in the RCAP folder.

GN Cascadian Sky 05.jpg

A few years ago, I used a conductor figure to portray a policeman in the above "drunk and disorderly" screenshot. I just can't recall which route it came from; might be the Cascadian, or perhaps Horseshoe Curve. I recall BLE (now Penn Steam) and Maine Maritime having a large selection of 2D figures, but pretty sure you'd rather use 3D for the close-up details. Currently, I'm not aware of any dedicated figures for law enforcement, other than some modern Polezei figures for the German routes.

There are also some station staff characters available from Britkits that might work for you: https://dickyjim.com/page14.html

Of course if you can locate that conductor figure I referred to, it shouldn't be too difficult to change the black uniform to blue or khaki and make it look more the part. Then do a bin file edit, just like doing rolling stock, and add the Geo-file. !*don-know!*

Thank you both for your suggestions. The RCAP pack has some nice items I have just discovered, and some new mobile homes (Portage has a couple places with a lot of those, so variety is appreciated), but I have not found any police sadly.

I will try the conductor reskin suggestion too.

Thank you.

"but I have not found any police sadly."

Time to worry when they come looking. :D :D

I know one of our route builders has some police and police cars and I have reached out to him about where he got them. Stand by.
