animated part gets resized.

Unread postby raptorengineer » Sat Mar 06, 2021 3:17 pm

so i made a small object then i added animated part to it. but in the blueprint editor previewing the object with the animation the animated object resized to bigger size. i guessing in train simulator you can only animated object to certain size. anything below that size will resize to big object.

i'm using blender

i don't think so. in blender you can copy object by pressing E and septate it from the main object that copy from and make it own object. here the thing i made becon light and added lens as animated object and it worked fine. the game didn't resize the lens object. i wonder if i have to make the animated object from ground up and not copy the object.

edit: so i made the lens from ground up and animated it and imported it to the game and same thing happen the animated object got bigger like in the pictures

no i haven't fixed the issue. ah ok so E extrude the object.... thanks.
so what you said applied scale i haven't done that i'll look in to that

edit: well i got it to work but it baffles me on how i got it to work.
the old flashing light model is base off DTG road Cone model off of. and i added animated lens. i wonder if it sides number issues. the lens light has 6 sides.

new model i made i base off shots i found online. but i scale the new model close to the DTG road cone model size. but lens has 12 sides over the 6 sides on old model. then i made lens animated and it work well. new lens didn't resize it kept is current size and work amazing.

so i think for animated object that move there has to be more then 6 sides to object or it looked messed up. that my theory anyway.

here video old vs new https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3HIJ7LuAaw

Nice to hear that now works! It is actually an interesting theory, although am not sure why the game wouldn't accept properly animations with less than 6 faces, but at least now everything works, so that good.
