Question about laying roadways.

Hello, I'm improving my Donner Redux, buy adding things like roadways with traffic, but I'm having a small issue.

I've learned I can go into the scenery and check the road "button" and it will highlight the roads in blue. The moving arrows seem to indicate which roads are active with traffic.... or are supposed to be?

I've laid roads with heavy traffic and afterwords I save, then exit, and the roads are showing traffic on them. Hmmmmm.
Then I restart the game, and those roads no longer have traffic anymore.

I'm gathering, that the original builders of Donner Pass, were trying to create a busy looking town scene like me, but running into the same problem of roads not seeming to work correctly after the first install and test of said road.

Any ideas of what I may be missing during install of these roads?

Eric.

This usually happens when a traffic road is added to a non-traffic one or vise versa. Adding a non-traffic road to a traffic road sometimes continues the traffic pattern throughout, but not always. Traffic roads added to non-traffic types will generally remain clear or have traffic only on the traffic portion. Sometimes things will change upon a clean restart, but it's not guaranteed.

To put it another way: the traffic system in TS is buggy as hell. I usually find myself relaying huge amounts of roads just to get things to "stick". *!rolleyes!*

Thanks for the reply.
I was wondering what was going on. just for the record, I was removing the old road first, then relaying the new road in it's place.
Didn't do any good though.
One of the things that's interesting, is that the roads in question seem to make traffic in one scenario but no another. Strange.

Thanks again for the reply.
