How can I edit SMMDigital's Railroad Crossing Signal Light Textures?

Unread postby ColoradoRailfan » Fri Aug 15, 2014 1:54 pm

So today I was looking at a download here in the file Library and saw a SMM Safetrain Light Textures for the Wayside Signals. I was thinking about it and I now want to know how I can replace the SMMDigital's Railroad Crossing Signal Light textures with one of my own, anyone know how I could do this?

You can treat it like repairing a locomotive or wagon.

I think he meant "repainting" and not "repairing." Here are a couple of tutorials. http://mullys.webs.com/repaint-tutorial

So this basically is the same procedure like repainting a locomotive.

I think so. I've never tried repainting scenery textures.

Yes. A texture is a texture regardless what it goes on.

Reading one of the tutorials, both of them you have to have Paint.net, downloaded that, and wont install, it just says "paint.net is being installed" and continues to say that and never finishes.

Then maybe you should go to the paint.net forum and see if they can help you with it. I am sure they have a help forum. I use Photoshop so I can't really help you.

Yes. Just follow the same instructions. You're only using a different program.

Ok, I put in the textures, now I have to edit the .Bin, but which one do I use? I am wanting to use it on the SMM_LevelCrossing_US_01 (and to 10)
