Telephone Poles

Unread postby SCLALINE » Sun Oct 10, 2010 6:58 pm

hey all,

Ok i think i have a sorta grip on this modeling thing :)

I am making a set of telegraph poles, so far i am quite pleased with how they have come out, i am using the glass fx for the insulators (i think i will redo them eventually)

comments, criticizms all welcome

(i am working on shadows next - reading up on it but its all greek now, and i wont even think of shadow baking yet)

i followed the stencil tutorial but all it does is give a rectangular shadow, i am missing something i think, but i have created a neat glass effect for the insulators and if you look at em they are transparent, doesnt do much for distance but it is kinda cool.

Looking really nice.

Stencil Shadows should be defined with "StencilShadow.fx" and would go in the spot where "TexDif"(sp?) would go.

I use 3d Canvas, so I don't know how 3dsMax works but I think you have it correct. Worst you could do is just try again.
