Unnecessary Files

Unread postby SMMDigital » Mon Mar 19, 2012 7:13 pm

I'm trying to pare down my file size for the AND route, so i've been going through and checking each folder for files that I don't need. I've checked some of the third-party assets as well. I have found a few Cost and TGT files. Including these with an asset is a Fox-Po, and only serve to increase file size and clutter on the recipient's computer. To a lesser extent, .xml files aren't needed either. The .bin files are compressed versions of the .xml, and are the blueprint files that the game calls upon when referring to an asset Geo. Now in some cases, lofts and signals I think, both the xml and bin file are needed, but for basic static scenery such as buildings and such, you can leave the xml files at home.

No need for xml for signals. Lofts have .Xsec files ( which is the actual loft shape ) and sounds have .proxyxml files, but I can't think of any reason for assets to need .xml.
