Apartment blocks

Unread postby Dan » Mon Nov 14, 2011 9:09 am

Hi,

I have no skills as a model maker but at the moment I am living in Bucharest which is the land of the apartment block. If anyone is thinking of making some apartment blocks and would like photos for textures then let me know and I can go and take some photographs.

jpetersjr is your man, Don. Look up his buildings in the file library here, or send him a PM (private message) with a few photo's. The man's a genius with buildings, any kind of scenery object. !!*ok*!!

Will do. My post was more about whether people were interested in getting photos of blocks for modelling. They are not the most lovely of buildings to look at :)

If they are vintage apartments I'd be more then happy to build them. But not interesting in modern buildings.

For reference, here's a picture of some of the buildings I'll be releasing very soon.

Still need to add in several more buildings before the set will be ready.

If you could get me some reference photo's of vintage buildings I would be more then happy to build them and add them in with the set. Also might try to build some 1940's vehicles to go with the set. However though, I'm better at buildings then vehicles though.

The Bradbury building is probably one of the most amazing in downtown LA. Looks quite plain outside but inside it's a wonderful treat: http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-bradbury-bu ... os-angeles

Of course, with RW you really can't model insides of buildings. Lots of pics for you, JP: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&cp=5&gs_id ... 36&bih=917 !!*ok*!!

A little more history: http://trespassparade.org/stories-from- ... y-building

This is one of my favorite downtown LA places, along with the Nickle Cafe. Yeah coffee is still a nickle (with a food purchase of course) and it's darn good coffee, too!

Oops, Nickle Diner: http://nickeldiner.com/ Yeah, kinda a little off topic. !**duh*!!

Would love to have reference photo's of these from each side of the structure. There aren't very many of these old buildings where I live, just a couple.

To really build a building to the building standards multiple reference photo's would help.

As well, can you get me pictures of the big white building near the bradbury building, looks like it would be a better one to start with, since the bradbury building itself will be challenging.

Tried a building similar to this, it's not very poly friendly in game.
