Default loading dock, lumber, operation of

Unread postby MadMike1024 » Thu Dec 09, 2010 9:54 pm

Dang military way of doing things anyway!

I am trying to use the default lumber loading dock from the RW2 item list. It will unload the load from the 40' flatcars, and in fact doesn't care what the load is, it adopts the daughter item from the freight car.

However, (you knew there was a but here!) it will not load anything. it does the entire load animation, but the material to be loaded doesn't appear. I'm thinking there's a broken link to the graphic it's supposed to use and don't know how to repair it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I tested mine with the same results. Took a look at the bin and shape files but I cannot determine the problem. I would suspect that we are missing the load object but cannot verify that.

I found that I actually have two lumber docks installed. One is at \Assets\Developer\Addon\RailNetwork\TransferPoints\Yards\Lumberdock and the other is at railnetwork~transferpoints~yards~freightdock-ms~freight dock timber.xml. The first one has no load object (lumber stack) and the second one stalls part-way through its script. I was able to fix the first one...

FIX:

Using RWTools, edit \Assets\Developer\Addon\RailNetwork\TransferPoints\Yards\Lumberdock\lumberdock.bin. Find the following text as pictured:

Image

There are three entries for the load object... delete the two "timberpile x2" entries completely:

In the remaining "timberpile x1" entry, the folder path is wrong. Delete the text as shown:

Your results should look like this:

Save and exit RWTools, delete the Blueprints.pak from your Assets\Developer\Addon folder and test. RWTools automatically makes a backup copy of the lumberdock.bin file in case anything went wrong.

Just a quick note for clarification.

The files that Toripony are referring to are not RS Default assets. Rather they are clones (altered by Michael Stephan) of my original Freight Dock asset. Michael had my permission to use these altered files in his RW Industrial Interactive Route and gave credit to me in his readme file.

The original FreightDock asset is available from TrainSim:

KRS Freight Dock 2. This is the next generation for the freight dock where a fork lift loads freight objects onto railcars. The dock now has the correct simulation and is editable by the user to select freight loads of their choice. Note: Installation does not overwrite or delete the original freight dock. By Richard Ham.

Thank you... I was trying to set the original scenarios for the MHRR to use all default rolling stock. The updated dock will allow me to set loads out to be more correct for the shipper.

BTW, Tiny's toys is going to become Tiny's firelogs... sawdust in, and crated firelogs out. The line will be nearly a closed loop.

Sorry to reopen an old subject. But I'm new to RW and still trying to figure out how to use RWtools. I had the lumber Dock working at one time, but reloaded steam and now my lumber load doesn't load. !*hp*! As said it unloads the lumber but doesn't load. I tried to look into RWtools but I'm ignorant on how to use it. Any Help would be appreciated.
Thank You.

Congratulations. You have posted on in my memory anyway on the oldest deadest post ever. Why didn't you start a new topic or put it over in Problems and Peculiarities?

Hey, cut the guy some slack, he said he's new. I remember my first venture into forums back in '96. *!rolleyes!* !*roll-laugh*!

Instead of complaining about a newbie oversight, why not split the post into a new thread?

Remember that this person (for all we know) may have never used a forum before, and is not as accustomed to common protocols as the regular users.
