Vehicle question

Unread postby dogrokket » Fri Feb 07, 2014 4:17 pm

Having just made a bus for my route, I want to put the lights on. Here's my question: I've been reading some about point lights that some of you are using on yard towers, etc. The TS dev docs say to make a plane just above the ground and paint the light beams on the plane, to simulate the headlight glow with the AddaTex shader. Can I use point lights as headlights on the bus and will they cast the beam on the ground, or is this not the preferred method?

You can add the point lights, but note that lights themselves add to the overhead. Also be aware that child objects (point lights) may not work properly when using them with the traffic manager.
Cheers!

Righto... I think I'll go the old fashioned way, since it's just clutter object. Thanks
