Hi all,

As Gray powers on with the Dash 9 update this month I have made a start on the basics front end of the SD70, I think we will be looking to make the ACe and the M2 versions so that it can cover a couple of the liveries we want to create.

http://railsimulator.blogspot.com/2010/ ... start.html

Not a great deal to see just yet but I hope to make good progress next week.

All comments welcome, while I have a wide range of images and a couple of books on these units I have never seen one in real life so any errors please feel free to point them out.

cheers

Derek

Looks good Derek. That link is a bad link though. :)

Nice to see the dash9 update will get done. Revisits to past products is always a good thing and makes them even more of a value.

Hi all, sorry for the lack of updates on this, having spent the last 3 days with admin and testing it has been nice to get back to modelling.

Progress pretty good today, mostly documenting details and searching the internet for some better images, I am keen to up the fidelity on the trucks

For those interested in the cab head lights there will be a version with them up there.

Derek nice work. Will this model have the windows open and the window flaps move? Also would there be anyway to make the numberbords and the step lights work just like on the Dash-9? If you need more photos of this unit let me know and i can send you some.. What detail parts of this unit are you needing?

Hello there,

I just wanted to give you a suggestion on the paint scheme for this locomotive. I strongly suggest you do the UP Rio Grande Heritage Engine. This is a beautiful paint scheme and I would really love it if you guys made this engine with that paint scheme. I also think that any of the other heritage engines would be nice too. But this is a must as far as paint schemes go. Really hope to to see this paint scheme. Can't wait for the release of this engine.

Thanks,
Zeb
