And the surprises just keep coming from Diesel Workshop. For that certain EL fan out there... they had both models. Enjoy!

Woooooo - Finally!
Be assured Cnwfan, I spammed their Facebook messenger moments ago.

Wouldn't it be cool if I we could have one supplier for all our Erie Lackawanna needs? Diesel Workshop just might be the crew I have been looking for.

I don't think its any surprise with me I'm looking forward to this one. Just look at my profile icon.

Everyday in New York and Pennsylvania the skies still fill with smoke from these honorary steam locos.

This begs for a CN livery.

Ooooh yes I love these old Alcos. Agreed on the need for a CN livery…maybe next we’ll see a C636?

It would be wonderful if they did representations of the entire Century line for both US and Canadian roads (with the Dofasco trucks). But this is an excellent start, and I'm encouraged that Diesel Workshop is filling this Alco void.

I second this idea. Can’t wait for these regardless of available road names.

Throwback to my childhood. We would bike to the local yard. It was small and quiet, the few CN employees were old and pot-bellied so they wouldn't interfere if we kept away from them. There were always one or two idling old diesels, centuries, GPs, even the odd FA or FPA. We would climb in the cabs, sit in the engineer's seat and "drive" the trains. At least the CN engineers had the common sense to remove the reversing levers. We would visit the FA's engine compartments, I remember the noise and the heat. We learned to avoid nose compartments and the unspeakable horrors lurking inside. I swear they were stuffed with dead camels, judging from the smell.

I remember one C424 from MILW, she was so blackened with soot I thought it had burned down to a crisp. She was constantly smoking and would spit oil in your face if you came nearby.

I have appropriately lobbied for EL as I have their ear.
If we got the CN model what route what go on? I'll just presume that CN is extremely popular when I give my advisement.

As an aside. I'm considering offering my assistance in acquiring sound with all the appropriate uhhhh permissions by the sound provider.

I have a crapton of 424s in my HO collection..this is up there with the SD45 as a personal motive power favorite.

Oh and by the way ....yes I have had cab rides in Alcos that were EL when the EL was in business with Dad...so heck yeah I'm hot for these! Like on fii-yaaah hawt!

The one road that I would like to see done for the C424 is Belt Railway of Chicago (Chicago Racetrack route). I could see a couple of those Alco's with a transfer cut to Cicero yard, or maybe working one of the other interchanges. But... the EL versions must come first.

Agreed.
I'd like a Green Bay & Western C424 but can do a repaint, first we need the model.
