Love the sounds, but why a second thread :P

Is there a method to apply the sounds to the Miami-WPB P42DC, MN P32AC-DM, or even the old G-Trax P42DC?

I think it is that the sound .bin files are outside the .ap file in MiamiAssets.ap or P42Pack01Assets.ap, I have sound mods in many DLC that used .ap files and they work fine. Maybe you have to manually copy and paste the .bin files.

Mp5a4 wrote:I recently purchased your soundset, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to set it up. In my my P42's assets are in a .ap file and I can only navigate to them using 7-zip. When I use 7-zip, I copy over files and folders but it does not overwrite anything, so now I have the new assets as well as the old ones. I've been working on this for over an hour and have had no luck. Can you help me please?

When you extracted the .ap file with 7zip, did you select 'extract files' or 'extract here'?

Originally I tried to place the new files into the .ap file. Afterwards I extracted them back to the main folder, removing the .ap file completely. All went well after that. Thanks for the help guys.

Even without extracting the .ap file I placed my sounds in the respective directory. They worked fine.

I could not get mine to work that way, 7-zip wouldn't overwrite files and I wasn't entirely sure what all needed to be replaced. But at the end of the day, either way would work fine, it just depends on what you are capable of figuring out on the computer. !!*ok*!!

The best way to get it working is extract the .ap file to the designated location, then delete it or move it. After doing that, then follow the steps including with the Download.

Are other people successfully using this add-on with the Chicago Racetrack route? When I use it with a few P42DC scenarios that I downloaded form the workshop I have three issues:

the half tone horn does not work
the F3 HUD shows my throttle at 50% at all times
I do not have any engine notches.

I tried running a P42DC scenario in Marias Pass and Stevens Pass and did not have two first two issues, the lack of notches still existed on those routes (truth be told it was so long since I ran the P42DC I can't remember if the original had notches or not).

Thanks

I think half tone is done by pressing C.

Do the prime mover sounds play up to 1050RPM? I temporarily aliased the P32AC-DM sounds to the Miami P42DC and only the HEP idle played over 900rpm. Over that the chugging noise was not audible.

Thanks, the C key worked, different from the instructions and the other routes, I wonder why that is?

Please elaborate your comment a little bit better. I think the C key was used because it was originally to be used as the sequencer, which blasts the crossing sequence for you.

Sure, the instructions for the soundpack say to use the N key for the half tone horn, and using the N key works on Stevens Pass and Marias Pass but not on the racetrack.
