I may have configured the signals or their markers incorrectly. Anyone who understands this stuff want to lend a hand? :D

I noticed that on a few between Mojave and Monolith. I think the zero links werent seperated from the rest of the track ribbon.

I thought I separated all links by breaks so as to not cause conflicts. I'll double check tho'.

Here are my slightly more elaborate Quick Drive scenarios for this route.
The northbound QD now has AI and static trains from the following DLC packs,
Donner Pass (only the Oil Cans), Marias Pass for BNSF and Sherman Hill for UP.

I have enabled the Tehachapi route UUID in the relevant bins from the routes' asset PreLoad folders. My bins overwrite the default ones, but should do no harm.

Remove the previous version first otherwise clashes might occur.

Remove, install instructions are in the ReadMe.

Here is something completely different.

What can be done about this situation? I had a train from the northern end of the Mojave yard crossing over to the Lone Pine sub.
The signals protecting the manual crossover stayed green. I know Railworks uses a principle of ABS when it comes to signaling, instead of CTC with Control Points.
Can the situation be resolved with more signal links and scripting, i.e. to tie some of the switches into the cirquitry?

Ran westbound tonight (free roam scenario using Sherman Hill equipment) from Tehachapi to Woodford. No track issues found. I did find some signaling issues at Walong and Woodford though. At Walong, I was lined through the main track. At the east switch of Walong, the double headed signal displayed a double yellow (approach diverging) aspect as though I was going to take the siding at the next signal (which is impossible because the next signal is where the siding ends). I would have expected a green over red (clear) aspect. I didn't get to the F12 key fast enough to get a pic. At the other end of Walong, the main track signal displayed a red (stop) aspect.

I checked the map view, and the main track signal is a double headed signal showing red over yellow (diverging approach). For the heck of it, I reversed the west switch and set it back to normal.

2015-09-11_00001.jpg

Once I did that, the main track signal then showed a solid yellow (approach aspect), although it was hard to distinguish from a red aspect. Before starting my run, I had lined the east switch at Woodford for the siding, so I expect the main track signal at west Walong to display either a green or flashing yellow aspect. The double headed approach signal for east Woodford did display the correct double yellow (approach diverging) aspect, which is what I would expect.

At east Woodford, I did get a red over flashing yellow (diverging advanced approach) aspect, which is what I would expect. And the flashing yellow was plain as day, even from a distance. Just before I went by the signal, I noticed the bottom aspect was flashing yellow to red to yellow again. However, from a distance, the bottom aspect was flashing yellow to dark to yellow. So again, maybe there is something going on with the LOD's.

At the Woodford siding west end approach signal, the dwarf was displaying the correct solid yellow (approach) aspect, although it looked like a red from a short distance. You had to be almost on top of the signal to see that it was yellow. I'm going to see if I can reproduce the Walong signal issue again tomorrow. I'll update this thread either way.

This was with today's update? FWIW, I get the following at Walong (East) through the main:

Tehachapi_East_Walong.jpg

And at the signal bridge:

Tehachapi_Walong.jpg

I'll have to investigate further on why flashing yellow isn't working properly.

Hey Marc... quick question on your scenario for testing the Walong signals. Was it a scenario that you started new? On mine, it was a saved free roam scenario that I had resumed. Also, on mine, I had lined myself into the east of Woodford after I resumed the saved scenario, but before I started moving the train. I don't know if any of this makes a difference, but just so we're testing apples to apples here. I'll try a new free roam scenario this evening and see if I can reproduce the same thing. And thanks again for your hard work on this route. Even with the little things that are found for fixing, there are so many more right things with the route. Thank you!!!

This was using the existing free roam scenario, but using a new (and the only) placement of a locomotive just outside tunnel 10. I checked to ensure that the signal displayed correctly, and also checked when lining the switch for the siding. I then drifted down the main to the signals in the loop to check their state.

I was able to reproduce my signal problem at Walong. Here are the steps I used.

1. Create a free roam scenario for a westbound train sitting on the main track at west Marcel (behind the signal).
2. Start scenario. Before moving train, ensure you are lined for the main track through Walong. Line the switch for the siding at east Woodford.
3. Start train movement west. Main track signal at west Marcel displays green aspect (expected).
4. Double headed approach signal for east Walong displays red over green aspect (expected).

2015-09-12_00006.jpg

5. Double headed signal for east Walong displays yellow over yellow aspect. Expected aspect should be green over red. Notice in above screen capture siding switch is line for the main track.

2015-09-12_00008.jpg

6. At west Walong, main track signal displays solid yellow aspect. Expected aspect should be green.

2015-09-12_00009.jpg

7. Double headed approach signal for east Woodford displays yellow over yellow aspect (expected).

2015-09-12_00013.jpg

8. Double headed signal for east Woodford displays red over flashing yellow (expected).

If the east switch at Woodford is lined for the main instead of the siding, then the correct green signals are displayed at Walong.

Thanks. I got the same results. I then went back in and adjusted the parameters, and all signals appear to be functioning normally. I'll add the changes to Monday's update. :D

You might also want to check the winter textures on the pole lines.
These are different from summer and probably the shapefile is broken.

Hey Marc. I'd like to ask what you have your brush setting's at when painting the ROW. I'm trying to avoid the whole square\circle splotch thing. ----Justin

I normally use Rail Simulator to paint...A bit more clunky, but RW sucks the memory right out of my PC when using the brush tool.
