I do not understand the reason for dual third rail and catenary on some stretches. This was long before the BART era.

Have you read the manuals? They go into detail on why this is!

Now this has me thinking about this short line, the Iowa Traction Railway still operating. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa_Traction_Railway

Glad to see it's been announced by DTG finally. I hope this comes out in the next week, it will be fun to run while staying home recovering from surgery and make a nice two weeks early birthday gift to myself.

Whatever else you do, run the tutorial scenario before driving the trolley: the signalling system and speed limit warnings are truly unique to TS as far as I know and a joy to experience once you get to know them. By the way, although the Bay Bridge is captivating, don't count on being able to admire it from outside the cab views -- you'll have to concentrate on the controls.

Don't miss this route, which has something for every driving preference.

After reading Gary Dolzall's excellent writeup, even I was surprised to learn that Jim had developed 17, count 'em, 17 Career scenarios for the SN route. I guess that number includes the tutorial and also the railfan one. There are passenger ones and freight ones, and some of them are quite challenging, given the occasionally steep grades and sharp curves. You'll probably want to Save often until you get a feel for the route and where the difficult places are.

Out of the box, there's a lot of running time to keep you busy, but there's even more good news. Jim has already developed at least 15 additional Standard scenarios that he'll be submitting to Workshop, post-release.
