!*drool*!

Another interesting blog update - getting closer and closer to New Haven each time. This one has a little something for everybody - rural, semi rural, industry, depot and water !*roll-laugh*!

Right at the Cedar Hill yards entrance / exit - that should be a great future update, not to mention New Haven itself...

Someone posted elsewhere that they tried to buy the ver 2 and said it was unavailable. Is that true?

Possibly, yes. We have asked Andreas to take 2.0 off the shelves to give us more time to prepare the new version. The upcoming VNH 3.0 won't be fully backwards compatible due to our substantial track and signaling changes. Some of our old scenarios had to undergo major surgery. We think it is an okay price for the vast improvements made, particularly with the new signals and the more accurate (and better functioning) HART junction.

Thanks for the information. Really looking forward to this one. It looks to be a major work again.

How does the release of a new version work, is there an additional charge to upgrade or is it free for current owners?

There will be some form of an upgrade for owners of the older versions 1 or 2, but we still have to figure out how to do that most elegantly. Also if or how much to charge for it. Details about the upgrade process probably won't be available until shortly before the release of v3.

I just spotted this article at the Train Simulator site (which used to be called Engine Driver): http://train-simulator.com/new-haven-showcase/

Am I correct in thinking that this is Michael et al.'s Virtual New Haven route? Surely, it must be. And I also imagine that DTG will be publishing version 3. Where does that leave those of us who have purchased versions 1 & 2? I wouldn't expect a free copy from DTG, but surely we deserve some consideration. I'm also somewhat disappointed that no mention of this has appeared on the VNHRR blog.

!!howdy!!

Hi Tom,

There will be an update option directly from us / Trains & Drivers.

From the article, it seems the FA-1 won't be included.

Just because something isn't mentioned doesn't mean it'll be released.

We have now also posted an announcement to the blog:
http://vnhrr.blogspot.de/2016/06/spring ... steam.html

Chacal wrote:From the article, it seems the FA-1 won't be included.

The FA-/B-1 won't be part of the VNH route 3.0. This is because DTM is working on a new model for the FA (some screenshots of which have already been posted here at RWA) and we didn't want to spoil their party by shipping the older and less spectacular version with the route. The new model promises to be absolutely stunning, the FA will be back! :D

We will post more about the changes from 2.0 to 3.0 (of which there are many!) here and on our blog soon. Version 3 is not really an update to v2, in many areas it is more like a completely new route.

Cheers
