Compressors are usually triggered by a drop in the reservoir pressure to a certain point. One of the real railroad guys can probably tell us what that is.

I think its like what Buzz said... The same as any other air compressor, it comes on when the air in the tanks drop to a certain PSI setting and then cuts off when it reaches the "Full" setting.

eyein12 wrote:Maybe someone can answer this I want to make sure I place the hallmark "whoop" sound and compressor at the right events. Does it just randomly happen or is it triggered by a specific event like release of the loco brake?

thanks

Don't quote me on this, but I think the "whoop" is the sound of the compressor motor engaging. I think it is triggered whenever the brakes are released or the main reservoir pressure drops below a certain point.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but it’s not the brake release itself, it’s that usually leads to the air pressure in the locomotive tank going down to the point where the compressor is triggered.

97% complete project:

known things to finish

-touch up physics work
-touch up sounds exterior and cab and add in another version for the AC units
-touch up weathering
-a couple small geometry additions..ie cab needs the two front window bars when looking out in just the BNSF version the other cabs already have it in place
-horn needs to be attenuated better and sound decreased
-add QD preload blueprints and scenarios
-fix the headout camera start point
-add in the driver

as you can see you can control the end CN unit's EOT light from the front unit only with the ET44 pack though. there is a CN unit called CN_EOT in the editor that you can place at the end of the train. All new sounds placed by myself was my very first effort lol. still working on improving the effects.

Oh that was no EOT, the CN units have a red marker light built on the anti-climber. !!*ok*!! !*drool*!

Nice flare on that Ian!

The window was opened using key press but you can open them by mouse hand as well. I was just being lazy

Looks good! Any reason the unit has a mechanical bell though?
