Bessemer to Conneaut, the game always crashes (dump file save) in the Springfield area. I've asked a few other guys about it and they're encountering it too. Otheriwse, it's fantastic and I'm really enjoying it. *!!thnx!!*

Try running LogMate while running the Sim. when it dumps the log will show what file or files it dumped on.

Undecorated 0-6-0: Give it any number 99 and lower. FWIW we used single-digit numbers in our scenarios.

As much as I LOVE Rick and the guys work on this, I think the recycled loco sounds are a real disappointment. I have tried aliasing to the K4, with only partial success (no "chuff" sounds - not sure what the answer is here) Am not criticizing, as I can not do better (have only just managed to get into painting) but I think it a little distracting. Anybody done anything differently? I would even be prepared to buy a sound package, much like the Brits, who have a couple of "sound enhancement" retailers.

That said !*drool*!

Good idea. Too bad none of these locomotives exists anymore. Maybe somebody with the proper equipment will travel back in time and bring back some live recordings.

I couldn't get anything inorganic through the time portal *!sad!* and teh Edison cylinder just wasn't up to the task in the field The best I could manage when I got there was this pic, which I posted at the time to my newly married Grand parents, with a note to hold on to it and that I would collect it sometime in the future. I had forgotten all about this and have just managed to find it among some papers from their deceased estate. Thanks for reminding me !*roll-laugh*!

Here's an almost century old video of a quick run into Greenville, PA and some yard switching there.

The problem, at least for me, isn't really that the sounds are from the "wrong" locomotive, it's that they're just...not particularly convincing. It sounds nothing like any recording of any steam locomotive I've ever heard. Granted a LOT of steam engines in this game have similar problems, but it's still a bit disappointing.

On the topic of sounds I think I have a solution.

1. Replace the chuffing sounds of the 2-10-2 with that of the NKP sound pack that was added some time ago.

2. Replace the chuffing sounds of the 0-6-0 with Mikes Connie (although the 0-6-0 sounds seem good from the vids I watched).

3. Change the bell to what ever you like. I usually use this one.

4. Change what ever whistle to what ever you want.

Boom Badda Bing and you're done! !**duh*!!
