I want to get this route but I can't bear the sight of the garish red-white-blue BCR paint scheme.
On the other hand, the slate blue engine pictured above by thecanadianrail looks good. Is it available?

I must say that I am enjoying this route a whole lot. Lots of long heavy drags up steep grades that go on forever. This can really put your power to the test. If you have not considered it yet, you should. This route runs very well to, even on my older machine. Here are a few more shots for you to enjoy....

I just completed the first scenario. Not a single problem. A very enjoyable trip!
Jonathan, the route is excellent, scenery is breath-taking, it looks even better than on the posted screen shots.

I especially liked that you took the time to write standard scenarios, write a real documentation with interesting history and display a map and elevation of the route during loading. The provided rolling stock is high-quality, I even got used to the BCRail colors!

Definitely worth the price, one of the greatest routes for RW3.

Looks quite tempting. Wide vista's, mountains, deep valleys. BC is located in CAN above Montana, hence the big skies?

What assets are included? For me it's not only about track and trains, but about assets as well. Assets that are somewhat generic North American and can be used in other routes for the desired variety in cityscapes as well as in landscapes.

Not quite, about 95% of BC is located north of Washington, and small portions are north of Idaho and Montana, its Alberta wich is mainly north of Montana.

Should have looked in Google Earth first .... !!**sorry**!!

Anyway, what about the assets? Some generic mine buildings, pulpwood industry, trestles, trees? I expect that part of CAN to be quite remote and very sparsely populated, so probalby only small stations and dwellings.

Its actualy not that remote and it has more population than you think, seeing as the southern part of this route has highway 99 running along side of it, which is 1 of only 3 main highways comming from Vancouver going east. but once you get north of the highway into where the fraser river goes into this increadably deep valley there is almost nobody there....cant buld many houses on the side of a cliff can you? once the railway gets to kelly lake it hits population again, as the mountains flaten out. there is tonnes of LARGE lumber mills north of where the current route ends with lots of small towns dotted along the way, and eventualy the railway meets up with the fraser again on a more shallow valley surrounded with forrests and fields. (again, check good old google maps once again !!*ok*!! )

its supprizing how much you can learn from looking at a picture....thus a picture is worth a thousand words! (now only if i could find where BCR had their coal mines on the maps......)

The BCR had the coal mines at Tumbler Ridge which turns off the mainline at Wakely. The coal trains went to Prince George and on to CN to Prince Rupert for export. The trains from Tumbler Ridge to Wakely were electics and CN power took over normally at Wakely to work the trains through to Prince Rupert. To my knowledge BC Rail never ran any coal trains south of Prince George so they would of never ran over the Fraser and Cariboo section...

What assets? They are all here included! I didn't have to hunt for a thing. Just make sure you have Scale Rail and Scale Roads. That's it. No asset hunt needed. And what a great route. Get busy, Doug. We need more work to do! !!*ok*!! !*salute*!

Definitely on my "to buy" list. Of course most anything North American will be, since RSC doesn't give us a lot of US or Canadian content. Not that I mind the UK stuff, it's very nice. I just want more from THIS side of the big water. *!greengrin!*
