It looks very good, it’s operation (and control) will be the key.

For some reason, the graphics resemble a hybrid of TSW1 and Trainz. I've never liked the Trainz graphics at all. But at the end of the day, at least 55% of the appeal is not related to graphics.

I hope it gets a 3d Crafter export plugin when released.

You can export it as .fbx into Unity

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this Sim is that it appears it is being built as a “public friendly” front end of their simulator used to train locomotive and signalling staff for the real world, their second developer update linked to a video about it. Certainly a sim to watch.

Looks good, but if there aren't any classic American diesels or US steam locomotives in it I'm not interested.

The creators have at least a year to consider which rolingstock will be included. and I'm sure that it is way less unlikely than say the 'challenger' being featured in TSW2, or even an SAR S class loco.

Edit: Removed mildly provocative comment.

I don't think Jon is being pessimistic. He's just stating his opinion about what might interest him and I for one agree with him about content.

In regards to the above, the Algebuckina bridge (between Marree and William Creek) would look stunning in this environment. Even more so with an NM or NSU trundling over it.

Looks a little too dark still. But I think the 3'6 gauge section from Quorn to Marree in SA would look fantastic in this new sim.

And is it reasonable to expect an in-game minimap that does NOT cause the game to crash upon loading? I wonder if Unity even supports this.
