We tried to figure out a way to lock these old threads but there didn't seem to be any good way to do this.

Maybe it would be wise to lock threads after they get past a certain period of time. Then you wouldn't have folks asking questions in the old threads, they could just start a new thread regarding the issue/problem/question they may have.

Did you read my post? Maybe you would like to be in charge of combing the forum and locking them when they get to be nine months or a year old.

If you have to go back 3 or 4 or more pages to find a thread that ought to tell you it is an old post eh? There are over 208,000 post. I would guess 200,000 of them would a year old or more. Anyone want to go through them and lock them 1 by 1??? I didn't think so...
