Not to mention Canucks, or North 'mericans :D

Habs any day of the week :P

Yeah I have to admit...it's strange why the sound pack doesn't have files in folders that automatically install to every ES44....but I'm fine being that I'm a manual install guy. In general I'm pleased that we Americans have an equivalent of the British Armstrong Powerhouse...check out their site, they have 40% off everything. I might not be the only one thinking some sounds of the AP Class 66 Pro sound pack can be used in some SD70 models.

emd645e3,

Thanks for doing these fantastic sounds...makes the sim that much more immersive.

I have an issue -- installed the sounds successfully to the ES44s in Stevens Pass and PennCoal, but for some reason, I can't get the startup sound timing mod to work in the Sherman Hill ES44. With the edited bin file in place, the sim simply doesn't recognize the SH ES44. I had to revert to the original bin to get it back. The only thing I changed in the bin (following the instructions on your video) was the "9.5" to "62".

Any other reports of something similar? Any idea what might be the problem?

So I've had a good bit of play time with these sounds and they are good, but there are some issues I'd like to point out. There is no shutdown sound, which was already mentioned but still worth noting, when engaging the dynamic brakes there is no wind up to them being on, the dynamic sound is either on or off. IMHO for a 10 dollar (13 for us Canadians) sound pack, those should be included. The horn and bell are loud up close but the sound doesn't carry much beyond the max distance out of the '2' key view, which is disappointing because it really should. Also the engine sound doesn't fade at all so no matter where you go you can hear it. I could be wrong but at least to my knowledge the turbo should be on from notch 2 up not just notch 7 & 8, again not 100% sure.

The sounds are great but with the issues I've found with the sounds distances which are easy enough to change and the missing sounds makes this pack seem a tad rushed. I'm not bashing this pack in anyway but for someone considering to buy the pack, these should be noted.

Seeing that Sherman Hill has been updated for TS2016, I am curious how this sound pack can have a minor update to support the UP ES44AC included with the route as it idles at 450rpm as opposed to the 315rpm on all the others (450rpm is the correct idle speed). If I apply these sounds to the Sherman Hill ES44AC it might idle with the wrong sound...the way to work around this may be via the use of changing up some values in the proxy related to the sound.

So are there no radio sounds in the cab?

Once I finish up with the 710s I'll be looking into revising this set seeing this was my first TRUE sounds for RW. I probably screwed up the coding in which the engine sounds do not faded in the distance but with my 710 sounds it seems I have manage to avoid one of the run sounds sounding infinitely in the distance.

The Dyno sounds are the best I could still yet i can figure out how to have them wind up but if you know a way let me know but for now that will not be in any set.

The horn sounds are not suppose to carry that far out that would be inaccurate.

And the shutdown sounds as I have said before and I will say it again, if anyone will like to go record a ES44 shutting down and with good quality audio and send it to me, I would be more than glad to add it in but right now I work with what I have.

Lastly for the missing sounds please email me what is missing I doubled and tripled checked and had my testers check and all the sounds are there except the DTG issued sounds which you would need. I am not familiar with their copyright so to avoid any legal problems I left them out on purpose.

I'll have to look into that. But using the sounds for everything else, it seems to work fine.
