The knocking sound is the joints. I haven't put a cab occlusion blueprint in yet, once I do, they'll quiet down to a realistic level.

Beats me how you guys do that.

!*hp*! Exactly! The way you set up the audio chain requires even more voodoo than setting up smoke and light emitters. *!lol!*

Must look into that open window audio, for my new NW SD45's also have windows and doors that open. And the SD45 is sufficiently loud to have an open window make a difference, esp. with the long hood in front of you.

Considering I used the essentially same audio for the new SD45, you can be assured I throw the effect into em before a LUA upgrade gets pushed out by Mannu.

Of course, I get it. The control value for the curves being the state of the doors/windows?

Yes, at least for the loudness or volume parameter in the cab audio occlusion.

I have some well made Dutch electric locomotives in Railworks that have increasing wind hiss/whistling/roar/rumble sounds when you drive them with a window open and increase speed.

If you are really into aural immersion, you should have stereophonic occlusion so the audio background changes when your turn your head in a cabview.

Only wind in your hair, grit in your eyes and dust flying are still missing ... *!!wink!!*

The DDA40X Centenial Add-on just popped up at steam store for $19.99 US. I am downloading/installing just now.

A big thanks to Lord Mannu and his team for the remake.

Edit:
The compressed file resides in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTM\DD40x\
DD40XAssets.ap.

Make sure you un-compress the .AP file with WinZip or similar and set the contents of the Assets\DTM\DD40X\ folder to read/write to enable listing the locomotive in Edit Assets tab in RW_Tools.

Edit2:
There appears to be no bundled scenarios with the Add-on - its only Quick Drive enabled. I quess we must make some workshop scenarios for ourselves.

Buy it again, not even maybe. I don't love anything in this game to buy it twice. It looks the same as the old version, better smoke though. Was it ever mentioned that previous owners upgraded free?
