You haven't answered the question about if you have any idea when this will be available?

Still Working on it. I'd estimate Mid-September, depending on QA results.

First pass of QA turned up a few niggle higgles and a clerical issue. I still have a couple recordings to make of the electronic components of Dash 2 locomotives have, then it should be complete. I'll have another pass ready at the end of the weekend hopefully and if it passes it'll be up rather quickly.

Noice! !!*ok*!!

Particularly interested to know some of the Dash-2 specific recordings in the sound set; when supporting the Soldier Summit SD40T-2 to use the bin files of Fan Railer; realistic sounds and physics are both vital in a realistic simulation.

The dash 2 spec sounds would be the reverser contact motor working from the electrical cabinet when changing directions, clicking of the contacts when throttling up from idle and down to idle, the contact motor for transitioning from Power to Dynamic brakes, etc.

Work has picked up recently so I haven't been able to record the stuff I need yet, but I hope to have a little teaser of the new features soon.
Thanks for your patience, everyone! :)

I got what I needed, and am redownloading bandicam just so I can make a little video before I release. It'll be a update feature highlight video and show all the new things I've done in better quality than what I had to make due with last night.
Sorry for the recording from my phone but its the best I could do at the time and I figured its been long overdue to share what it sounds like.

Seriously, awesome job with this. I will definitely spend more time with the SD40-2s as soon as the update is released. This pack really seems to be up to more AP Pro-like standards. Love the bronze bell. And it's called "Recording of a recording" !*roll-laugh*!

Recorded using an iPhone?

It's pretty easy to make stuff sound like the real deal when you work with it nearly every day. The GP38-2 sounds will just be the 40 series pack with the 645E sounds instead of E3 sounds and some new High Distance recording inlaid, subtraction of a cooling fan sound.
Which reminds me, I ought to add in shutter sounds before the fans start up...
I recorded off my LG TV with my Galaxy S6. Not bad, but you lose a lot of dimension when you do that and doesn't fairly represent how the game sounds. The doot recording is a sample from another railroad ride along a few months ago. I wasn't working and really liked the S3K so I figured I'd take a quick clip.

I'm also curious if there will be window open/close sounds for the Soldier Summit SD40T-2 (Window sounds are present in your 645E3 sounds for the DTM diesels). The GP38-2 sounds seem like a rework of the existing GP38-2 sounds; it actually seems tempting to send the sounds to DTG and they will apply it to every GP38-2 DLC.

Do you have any involvement with the DTG NJCL loco and rolling stock sounds?

No. It's too much work to implement the window triggered sounds into the SS locomotive when I'm this far along with the set already, and it unfortunately isn't a simple copy and paste from the DTM set to do it on the RSC one. It involves making all new loop an one shot triggers versus a curve for volume for each and every file from idle to 8 and back down and if I want to meet the deadlines and not QA all over again, I won't be able to do that.
The GP38 sounds are a rework of previous work done on the GP38-2s since I retain the right to my original source recordings. It isn't tempting at all to work with those ninnies because they think going back and making something actually half decent is too much work and not enough profit. I saw that Kevin was hoping to do the whole sound DLC thing, I had that thought before, but realized it just makes them look bad for releasing engines with half assed sounds and then charging to get actually decent ones.

I don't have any plans at all to work with them on anything in the future, including the NJT stuff. I don't have much interest in doing sounds for their engines anyways, I'll leave that up to Ryan Renolds to do commuter engines.

Update. Here's the teaser video for now:

I am having a strange issue with the NS LHF SD40-2 in which the external sounds refuse to play, yet the interior sounds work fine. The horn and engine xmls control both exterior and interior sounds, and I have checked to make sure there are no clerical errors in my work that prevent the sound from playing properly. I've done the standard clear cache and stuff already and I can't get anything out of this.
If I can fix this, I'll be submitting this for final QA and hopeful release.

Regarding the GP38-2 sounds, I'm interested to know if you will use the your sounds in the MLWAudio folder, or if you will plan to use some of your older recordings in your older offerings.

You may want to double check the proxy being used for the LHF SD40-2. I have had no problems when I copied bin files to the other SD40-2s that were not supported in the original pack. In the interior, will the mono exterior sounds play inside the cab for passing AI locomotives - it just doesn't sound right when I see SD40-2 AI locomotives from another train. Also interested to know if the cab sounds will be stereo.

BNSFDude's preview video is live: http://youtu.be/mEUMA1Hrrpg

Out of total curiosity, will this pack support the discontinued SD40-2 DLC packs such as the ATSF, BN, and CN SD40-2 packs? (CN SD40-2 standard cab can be acquired through Ft Kent Eagle Lake and Ohio Steel 2)
