You could also clone one of the 'C' end cars, attach a FRED to it, then list it as a separate car. Then it would be up to the user to put it as the last car on the train if they desire a FRED on the back or not.

You work fast, Ian. Better not rush things out untested ...

Regarding the couplers, what will do about the brake hoses? I still think you'd best have them couple to the most common replacement couplers in use here, those of Britkits.
Incidentally, there are no glad-hands on the present hoses and your locomotive hasn't any brake hoses at all.

Have you ever considered giving your unsolicited sage advice by PM to others since you insist on scolding people while advising?

Im not adjusting my couplers so that they work with britkits stuff. I dont have anything of theirs to even work to. all my future addons will incorporate my couplers and will operate with them.

My basic buckeyE couplers will get the hoses as well so theres uniformity. I will remove the brake hoses off the locos to get them to function right aesthetically.

Very well.

Railroading is all about standardisation, standard gauge, standard coupler height, standard brake hose length and glad-hands, and a huge lot of other standards. You can look them up at AAR.
If you want to create yet another standard for your products, go ahead. I think Britkits would have kindly shared some basic geometry data with you.

One can always replace couplers when they don't mate.

I am pleased with your Tank Train, but was hoping that a decent product can be made into an outstanding product.
Taking Buzz' advice, I'll better resort to PM for the future.

Service pack 3 is now uploaded.

whats fixed?

-A/D keys now kick the HUD throttle and cab handle in gear
-EOT device included, simply access it in the scenario editor as a typical freight wagon(flip if necessary and hook up to the end of a train) and apply to any consist.
warning: the light will not flash unless the lead locomotive uses the "Startup" control and has "apply to consist" selected
in the blueprint(would be a 1 instead of a 0). All my locomotives have or will have this function called and therefore the
beacon will flash with my locos in the lead by default.
-Coupler brake hoses' height lowered
-Tank cars now weigh more and require more power to move them.
-coupler and bogie audio added to the tank car wagons
-adjusted the number of notches on the throttle to now have 8 instead of 4
-minor geometry fixes

I also updated the sd80/90 pack(fixed the A/D keys) and the B40s, to ensure the EOT works if they are in the lead. Also look for updates to the other respective packs this week.

Happy railroading

Eyein downloaded the upgrade but the EOT light is not very bright at all. Is there anyway to make this brighter? But it is a nice model.

This is definitely one of your best packs Ian! Love the detail. One question I have is, is it possible to edit the throttle so it's at 0% not 6%? At present there really isn't an idle.

probably is a way i'll see what I can do.

problem is I either have to try to learn how to use the animated texture function in max or use a script. Using a script will keep this working only with my locos unfortunetly. so maybe someone has an idea?

I could use LODs that would work. just make the light larger as you move away from it.

Service pack 4 has been posted. eyein12.blogspot.com

-Fixed the HUD and throttle so that there is a 0 notch which lets the handle rest at 0 instead of -1% when de-accelerating
-adjusted the brightness of the EOT light so that it is brighter.

I also fixed the braking issue with the sd60 spartan. that has been updated as well.
