Machine Rail GNFO - GM/EMD Locomotives

Unread postby martins » Fri Jun 28, 2019 7:15 pm

Hello, it is with great satisfaction that I come for the first time to divulge a product of mine, together of the team GNF&O of which I am part; modeling, textures, animations, finally.

This is the locomotive of General Motors-Electro Motive Divison, an export model of the late 50's, EMD G12 for Brazil. I would like to invite you to visit our website to know more about our work.

Feel free to check all our products, freeware or payware; and we will be happy to remedy all your doubts:

Very useful locos, these...

Prospective buyers should note that these locos are for different gauges: two are metre gauge versions (just right for Clear Creek?) and the third is for 1600mm gauge. Although, to my eye, it sits comfortably on Standard Gauge track.

And there may be differences between the trucks of the metre gauge versions...

Kind regards,

John M

I checked out the video. You did a nice job with the locomotive. Do you have any plans to produce a US gauge version for NdeM? That is something I would definitely be interested in. Thank you!

I'll keep the fingers crossed... and thank you!! BTW... if you're looking for another paint scheme for your GP35, NdeM had some in both high and short hood versions.

Nice work on these. A few also made it to the North American market. Canadian National Railway at one time had two of those units on their roster for use on their Vancouver Island network who at one time ran three separated lines on the island which was shutdown in the late 1980s. The photos below show their size compared to GP9s while being serviced back on the mainland. The black and white shows the two units at work at on the island. The units have some differences from their cousins which were exported but very similar from what you can see when compare.

CN 991 and 992 were ex-London & Port Stanley units that the line had purchased to continue freight operation after they ended electrification in 1957. These were the only two G12s that were in North American operation north of the Mexican border. They fell under the ownership of Canadian National in 1966 when the line was finally sold off.

Good to see these, Fernando!

Am I right in thinking that, unlike many of your recent models, these SD38-Ms are all 1600m gauge?

Kind regards,

John M

Just a heads up, the links to the SD38s on the GM/EMD page seem to lead to a few different G12s rather than the intended SD38. (At least on my end)

You might want to check that your links are where they need to be.

Hello John, this is really a 1600mm gauge and other locomotives of the same gauge will soon appear.

Greetings!

We saw that the site had an error on the GM / EMD page, but the problem is already solved. You can access and check!

Greetings.
