Plenty of us bought this great route. Just no one one has posted a video.

I'd offer but I get 24 FPS when nothing else is running, 10-15 is average, and that's with shadows completely disabled. A show pony my rig ain't!

It's actually quite easy. Just before you get to the downhill grade, give one short toot on the whistle. One by one, the cars' handbrakes will be applied automatically in response to the whistle. Then run the engine as if you were pulling the train along on the level - set a suitable amount of cutoff and open the throttle. In effect, you drag the train down the hill against the resistance of the handbrakes. Reducing the throttle should be enough to slow the train down. However, if the grade is so steep, and the train so heavy, that the handbrakes aren't enough to control the speed, you can also use the handbrake on the tender. If that still isn't enough, put the reverser into reverse and open the throttle just enough to hear chuffs but not loud chuffs. If the chuffing gets too loud, the pistons and rods get strained and bent and eventually the packing gets blown out of the piston glands (game over).

Cheers,
Mike

Yet another example of your programming genius, Mike! !*brav*! !*cheers*! !*salute*!

This is one of my favorite routes presently available.

Just a quick inquiry, has anyone else had problems with sounds cutting out after a while of running on this route? I've experienced it on both this and the VNHRR. I suspect it may have more to do with my running on a laptop, but I just want to put it out there.

I'm pretty sure that this is a known problem and, yes, I've experienced it, too, especially in regard to engine sounds.

EDIT: A much more serious problem for scenario writers is that when a scenario opens for editing the "time" looks like midnight in a tunnel. The flashlight tool can be used, of course, but the area illuminated is very small, Yes, there's a hot-fix for this, but it must be reapplied after every file verification and that packs the files that need to be replaced in an AP file that must be unpacked before the hot-fix can be reapplied. This is a serious enough nuisance to discourage many scenario writers, which may explain that to date no scenarios have been uploaded to Steam Workshop for this route.

Throttle up with a well mature A-B-A lashup on a log drag of hoppers for the mines.

I've heard so many good things about this route, so I will finally pick it up in the current sale, along with
the Springfield.
