Description

RW Amtrak ICE Tour b09

Amtrak ICE Tour - Version 0.9 public beta
This fictional szenario sets you aboard a morning drive of the ICE from Philadelphia to New York in the consist order the real Amtrak ICE tour was driven in. But to make the scenario more interesting fictive stops in between were added and the additional traffic on the line was built in with a good diversity and entertainment value in mind during the about 90 minutes ride.
To present the train as good as possible, Amtrak tried hard to clear the line from any other traffic, so nothing unusual should happen. Watch the speed limits and signals and you should have a nice and easy ride on the NEC.

Required payware:
- North East Corridor
- BNSF Officially Licensed ES44AC & SD40-2

and one of the two available ICE models:
- virtualRailroads ICE (recommended)
- German Railroads ICE (created and tested with the original GR version, not with the Steam version)

Required freeware downloads:

Amtrak EMD F40PH
Sixteen repaints of David Brindley's F40PH by Michael Zimmer

All three downloads are not yet TSX optimised!

Installation:
First install the three repaints above, instructions can be found in the readme files delivered with them, then clear your blueprint cache.
In this zip Archive you find two versions of this scenario as .rwp files. Depending on which version of the ICE model you have you should install the one named accordingly.
For the German Railroads version use: amtrak_ice_tour_GermanRailroadsICE_b09.rwp
For the virtualRailroads version use: amtrak_ice_tour_virtualICE_b09.rwp
Installing the wrong version will not harm Railworks, but the scenario will not work.

Known issues:
# Why is the scenario called "public beta"?
- Basically because I do not know if there are any errors left in this version. I tested it properly by driving it multiple times myself, that does not ensure it will work fine on other PCs. So please report any error you may find, contact details are below this section. Thank you.

# Train XY just sits still on the line when I pass it.
- That should not happen, please give me the exact train name, the time in the scenario where you saw that and the location of the train. I will try to fix this and update the scenario accordingly.

# All displays in the cab show kmh, not mph and my actual speed is wrong.
- Well it's a german train, made for german routes. No easy way to fix it for me, in the mean time you can train your brain by converting the values shown on the speedometer: 1 kmh is 0.6214 mph ;-)

# The PZB / signal warning device does not work
- See answer before: german train, american route - the systems are not compatible and unlike in the real Amtrak ICE tour can not be modified in Railworks (at least I don't know how).

# The pantograph does not reach the electrical line / catenary
- The catenary on NEC is higher than the default height in Railworks. As it would require changes to the original model of the train there is no way to fix it for me. Workaround: Just don't use the outside views ;-)

# The AFB (cruise control) in the German Railroads ICE does not work in RW3
- No way to fix it, obtain the vR version of the ICE where it does work.

# I have another issue, not listed here.
- Please contact me at railworks(at)web42.org or write me a PM in the forum, username Toldrabald (UKTS, RailworksAmerica) or Zaunpfahl (Rail-Sim.de)
