East Broad Top Railroad

Unread postby will957 » Sat Sep 02, 2017 9:24 am

Since none of the photos on my old EBT thread are no longer view able due to photobucket wanting money of me now for me to be able to share the photos to other websites I've decided to make a new thread. A lot of work has been done over the last few months and a plan on how the route will be released is being sorted. It will be donationware which go towards the Friends of the East Broad Top. There is planned loco packs featuring rolling stock to go with.

Donationware is a great idea! I was heart broken when I found out they weren't running anymore.

We plan to model every EBT Mikado, from the medium sized Mikado's 14 & 15 to the big Mikado's 16, 17 & 18. We are in need of modelers for buildings, so if anyone would be interested in helping out please do say!

So you're taking TweetsieDude's EBT Mikado for your route? Did he give permission to make it Donationware? Cuz the last time I talked to him it has to be Freeware only.

The route can still be donationware without violating the IP issues of the freeware Locomotive, just add a link to the freeware download location of the locomotive. This allows the Geometry files to be distributed as freeware while the repaints can still be distributed with the route. I don't own the EBT Mikado, so I am not sure what the freeware stipulations are, but most repaints are done by allowing the user to download the purchased product and use the geometry files for the repaints. I suppose the opposite is true also.

I don't understand. Isn't that model by him for Trainz? If someone did it for TS20xx wouldn't that be a different model?

We aren't taking it he made it purposely for us and understands its for donationware and it's been made so it's more suited to TSXX, do not worry :)
