Been a little busy keeping the site going and having fun playing with TS2013 and writing some new scenarios and maintaining my own website and working 10 hours a day on my day job and playing Skyrim and a lot of other things in my life. Did you try to get it open or anything else? Why not?

I have tried the usual options of both RWTools as well as RSBinTools and neither will open the file. I haven't found any other utility that can handle the file. !*don-know!* Any suggestions on a utility that can handle the new files?

When you open the TgPCDX file of interest with RW_tools you see this in the 12th line from the top:
<Format d:type="cDeltaString">HC_IMAGE_FORMAT_COMPRESSED_INTERP_ALPHA</Format>
Change it to read this:
<Format d:type="cDeltaString">HC_IMAGE_FORMAT_COMPRESSED_EXPL_ALPHA</Format>
Then convert TgPCDX to .dds, you'll see it works!

How do you save? Do you have to change it back to INTERP? Or will it work without it?

I tested it and it saves no problem. I didn't see any problems and I did not need to change it back to INTERP.

Based on the different texture files, this will be a bear to repaint and weather. *!rolleyes!*

I read up on the interpolated alpha channel, it's nothing else than a standard DXT5 format. It allows you to do soft transitions. So no longer white 2 black in the channel but white 2 shades of grey 2 black.
I didn't have a chance to test it yet, but I would assume that after editing the texture sheet you can reload it in DXTBmp, re-apply the original alpha from the TgPCDX and save it in DXT5 to then process it back into a TgPCDX again.

It will certainly be a SOB to repaint, I'm working on a paintkit and can asure you that the details are scattered all over the place. Getting them all to show up on the black background and identify them is a tedious job **!!bang!!**

I like to decal idea for the logos though and intend to experiment a little. I think it is possible to manipulate them such that they are usuable for any repaint.

Once I got the paintkit sorted (I'll share it with whoever wants it, I do not suffer from mis-placed pride and keep it all to myself), my first repaint will be that big orange beast with swooshes.

Look forward to your kit when its available. I don't have any specific projects planned yet but it will certainly be help when I decide what to work on and I get the urge for a challenge. *!lol!*

Well, it may take a while... I have to work for a living and while flying B747-8 freighters ain't too bad a way making that living (no complaining passengers !*roll-laugh*! ), it takes me away from home base for extended periods of time and all I can haul along is my laptop...
Meanwhile you can enjoy the Blue Jays!

I fly one of them on my computor. !*roll-laugh*! PMDG 747NGX. Is it as boring in real life? After your airborne anyway. But programming the flight computor, takeoff and let the computor fly it, what do you do in all that time from point a to b?

Well, so do I to show my boy what I'm doing when I'm away from home! Looking forward to the 747 update PMDG have planned... To answer your question, yep, it can get boring once you're at cruise level and over Mongolia somewhere. Luckily I'm senior enough to only fly the extreme long hauls which means we're 3 in the front office. We each get our turn at a nap and some food and coffee at leisure. Pre-flight briefing, pre-take-off prep and climbing to cruise level in the US and Europe is pure stress (apart from kicking butt with dispatch to get the cargo on board on time !!bang!! ), and when descent start it gets pretty hectic as well. The 10-12 hours in between are boring if there's no 3rd pilot coming along (no flight attendents remember !*don-know!* ), sort of waiting for something to go really wrong and that basically never happens. But since most of the time I do have a second first officer, I get books to read and repaint kits for FSX and RW to make !!*ok*!!

Thats what I mean I couldnt find anything in the file. I also thought it might be a shared texture but i'm still new to this so I guess it's back to the drawing board.
