The voice of reason. I dusted off The Bay of Quinte route to calm down.
To this day, one of the best freeware routes out there. IMHO
Any news on the creator?, or news on the routes extension?

He popped in a few months ago I think, worth finding the thread. I RW3-ized my copy & did things to weather & so on, but I can't see to find the energy to finish doing that - plus the trees all need replacing now there's cab sway, coz they rock with the cab!

I'm not sure, but searching in internet I found that spk is a sort of encrypted package used to transfer files between computers, something like the zip or rar files though with encrypted code which allows extracting operations since you are connected on line with the download source. It looks the case of Steam, is used in other Steam Games, and also TS2012 (I found "red" Blueprints.spk* in the PRR K4 pack also).

Spk maybe is not exactly a temp file, in fact is a file with content (can hold any sort of file like txt, xml, pdf, jpj, bin etc.), so it comes with the downloadble pack as part of it (so listed in the manifest to check if it was downloaded) though after the installation is deleted because is no long usefull. Just don't ask me how, but we know that Steam tools can not only add/replace files into your pc but also delete files as happened in SP-1.

The clues I wonder are: check anti-virus (Pam, I know you did it), and check/clean Windows Register for invalid entries once they may cause problem when decripting/unpacking spk files (I use CCleaner regularly). Maybe happened a connection problem just at the moment of handling the spk file (if is really needed you have to be online at the moment), but many of you have verified integrigity many and many times, so... !*don-know!*

Same here, the only time I used it, it really 'cleaned my clock' and I had to restore W7 from my System Image backup!

I don't touch registry cleaners, they're not doing anything useful. Profile cleaners *would* be useful.

All my Donner Pass Dash 9 scenarios work (strange) but no other scenario works that uses Dash 9 diesels. Do these bloody RSC developers work weekends or are they all watching the Games?

The Dash 9 in the Donner Pass route is another engine that is only included in this route. It has nothing to do with the engine concerned in this thread.

Unless you are a pro, just use the "Cleaner" that gets rid of all those stupid tracking cookies. Don't use the Registry cleaner. I do, I make a backup first tho. CCleaner really does work a treat! !!*ok*!! Been using it for years, guess I'm just lucky. !*don-know!*

I've also been using CCleaner for years and never had a problem with it.
I use both the cleaner and the registry cleaner.

CCleaner will even get rid of those pesky LSO tracking super-cookies placed on your hard drive from Flash content on websites.
