U-Boats. They have a GE 7FDL-12. These tiny little 3000HP narrow gauge loco's were up until last year the most powerful loco's in NZ... kind of says alot about NZ. Yup, we're small, and we don't use snow plows!

Ah. Very neat, I love to see when other countries use American locomotives. In my opinion, looks better to use than Euro styled units, but I'm sure the Europeans here think their units are better haha. Just depends on where you live I guess.

CHINESE! 6 cylinder 2 strokes sound awesome hauling up the grade past my house, but I have doubts about thier durability.

The South Island of NZ gets LOADS of snow every year. If any of you come to NZ, don't waste your time on the North Island... Go South

Haha I have doubts about any Chinese product's durability. So do yall use US freight cars too? Also, are any of your units purchased used from American railroads?

All our rolling stock is built in NZ to similar design to some U.S. Most are block trains so generally you'll see either all log, coal, milk (surpise surprise... it's our biggest export) or container. All trains were mixed when I was a kid which was alot more interesting. We can't purchase any ex-American rolling stock because it's all far too big. Whilst our rail is very Americanised, it's very miniaturized too.

There was a You Tube video a while back, not too long, showed a diesel passenger train in Brazil driving thru a huge lake of water that a storm had dumped. Can't seem to find that one but it's great.
