Im sort of a strange bird when it comes to Rail Simulation. Save for the scenarios that I had to test before releasing, I have never ran an entire scenario for fun, either in MSTS or Railworks. I'm more of a "dig in the guts of the program and see what I can build" kind of guy. Guess it's the reason I can pass on a cab-ride in anticipation of the run-by. I ran the Rail-Sim trial for about five minutes, wondered if I could build a route with it, and bought it about 30 minutes later. I still have MSTS, bit it's not been run more than a couple of minutes to test the latest OR release in over two years.

I won't go back to trying to build routes in MSTS, but I still keep it installed with my favorite routes (none of which are available in Railworks) and take a trip on one of them about once a week or so.

It doesn't look as nice but I do so like running on the Monon or the Chicago great Western or 8 other routes that I can't see being done for Railworks anytime soon.

i love railworks mind you one thing is single track is not supported for AI yet but soon i hope. i wish sli and maple leaf track and diesal west would jump over or aleast give it a try. i mean route building is so so much easyer. i mean for SLI to build bnsf seanic sub would take maybe 3 mouths. and since 3d max is support they could take there msts content and tune it up and bring it over to railworks. and the one thing they have to do it make 3d cab. i haven't look back but i will play msts once in while.

Are you sure about that?
Check Tom Pallen's AI demo scenario.
Search for "OldProf-RW3_AI_Demo" in the RW2 File Library here.
I'm pretty sure there were some posts on the subject too, but can't find them now.

There's also a video made by Rich Garber about AI trains.
