I see the light about Raildriver, but it doesn't make you feel any better when you drop 200 large and it doesn't work correctly. I'm computer savvy, but talking about scripts and all this other stuff is Greek to me!

The only place MSTS exists is on Ebay or Amazon used for about $60. OpenRails has skyrocketed the price.

I bought MSTS for $15 in 2009 and thought it was dreadful in it's original form. OpenRails made it a really good TrainSim. I bought RailDriver about two weeks ago and have been playing Open Rails ever since. If you get MSTS get Activity Generator there are infinite activities.

I am running Win7 64 and OpenRails runs great. MSTS has to be installed as adminstrator, go to the Steam4me website for instructions.

I wish Railworks was better, but I am not optimistic.

EDIT: Google "Train Simulator [Software Pyramide]" they are available from Germany for 9 euros. There was a thread on TrainSim forum about them and they ship to the US.

I'm waiting for OR to get a bit better looking - the physics side of things is looking pretty good; combined with RW models that would probably be enough to keep me content.

AEM7 might-be-fix further down the thread.

There is no throttle indication on the HUD, and no brakes.

Thank you

AEM7 might-be-fix attached. That's it though, I'm not running a service for RD proofing stuff :P. Contents go in the Simulation folder.

Well, unfortunately it didn't work for me. I am going to leave you alone however, there is more than one way to skin a cat. I am going to clone the AEM7 and redo the control section of the bin file and try to get it to work that way.

There's nothing in a script that can turn off parts of the HUD, so any missing levers are nothing to do with me. That did seem to be missing the modifications I did to the brakes though, I'll sort that out in a sec.

Editing the controls won't help at all, the script is overriding them.

Guys, I'm having issues with this thing and I'm about to send it back. Maybe I just got a bad unit , but I think it's software related. When I'm connected in the game the display flashes from rd to usb and then the controls don't work. I hear the windows sound for when you are connecting a new device. Also I will get a Macroworks 3 has encountered an error once and awhile when I start Railworks. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, nothing works.

You should ask for súpport help on Raildriver site, they use to be fast and efficient, and for sure they will replace your device if seeming really deffective... *!!wink!!*

I'm so !!**sorry**!! Bad luck! *!sad!* Murphy strikes again!

If the device is disconnecting (as you mentioned) is not a RD software problem, maybe a physical problem with the unit or with your USB port (or your USB software, if not WIndows default).

Did you run the RD calibration tool?

Macroworks, does Rail Driver need that? Because Railworks doesn't. I don't even have it installed on my PC. Maybe try and uninstall it? (I don't have a Rail Driver so I'm just trying to offer some advice)

Macroworks needs to be running it sets up the config for the Raildriver.

Did you try another USB port?

Being more especific, my current version (originally for RW2 but still working with TS2012) is "MacroWorks 3". As far as I can remember (maybe I'm confused with Trainz RD versions) "Macroworks" doesn't work for RW2/TS2012.

And also, many years ago I had a pc with (old) USB ports and RD was not estable, but I fixed adding (at that time) a faster USB port.

Still not having luck with the Raildriver, still disconnects and I get an error message:

Whoops! Raildriver encountered an error. Please check the error log.
I just feel like I wasted $200 bucks. Waiting for a reply from support.

Hum... Lately I was wondering what happened to you and your RD...

DId you test in another USB port? When e-mailing RD support give them the link of this thread, they will look into to grab more information.

Maybe is the case of replace the device for another brand new (I'm sure P.I.Engineering wil do this if the console is deffective), otherwise you have the right of send it back and get your money back also.

Lisboa.

Also, do you have problems with other USB devices?
You could have a faulty motherboard, or faulty USB drivers in Windows.
