TSW anyone?

Unread postby cbff33 » Thu Mar 16, 2017 12:55 pm

Judging by the feedback so far on Steam. DTG is going to suffer an epic fail on this one. People with machines that are well above the minimums requirments, and towards the top end of the requirments for hardware, are saying it's not working much better than the beta. Sorry to see.

Does somebody still have the beta at hand and is able to compare files by size and internal time stamps?

My exact impression. Less than 15 fps running the AC4400 at night pulling some intermodal consist on recommended settings on a AMD 8 core processor at 4 GHz, using 16 GB RAM and paired with 980Ti, that is pathetic performance!

It uses about 35% of CPU and GPU at 1920*1200@60 so there is still much room for optimisation on the UE4 graphics engine part.

No Asset or Blueprint Editor. Fail !*not-ok*!

No way to get third party products into the game. Fail !*not-ok*!

All content files are packed in .PAK format, which cannot be opened via conventional methods. Fail. !*not-ok*!

The game looks to be incomplete. Fail !*not-ok*!

Having no frame rate issues, don't know what it is but the game is running smoothly. !!*ok*!! (Core i7 4970, 32GB RAM, Samsung 950EVO SSD, GeForce GTX 970 STRIX.

Ouch, just had a look at the steam store page. *!rolleyes!*

This is the TANE fiasco all over again.

Well, to paraphrase what I think Derek said a long time ago:

"People complain, we fix it."

It will all be well, eventually.

Correct, no one bothers to give anything a chance, they much rather jump ship.

Left the drivers seat, walked back to the first car and pulled a pin.

Consist stopped abruptly, dropping me to the ground to watch the locomotives continue without their driver like nothing ever happened. Most important safety feature of train operations not implemented means a total failure for me. Applied for refund.

Hopefully by the first sale the game will have turned into a simulator and has been re-made to run better.
