Unread postby micaelcorleone » Thu Jan 20, 2011 12:08 pm

The SD70 Volume 2 Add-On will be available for RailWorks 2 Train Simulator on Friday 28 January.
This add-on includes all-new liveries and model variants of the SD70 diesel locomotive, making it a perfect stable-mate for the SD70ACe add-on released last year.
The SD70 Volume 2 Add-On includes the SD70MAC in BNSF Executive livery, SD70M-2 variants in Norfolk Southern and Canadian National liveries, plus the SD70ACe in BNSF livery.
This add-on offers a diverse selection of variants from the SD70 series, with AC and DC powered versions and various external differences between the different models, allowing you to add realism to your RailWorks 2 yards and consists with different SD70 versions working together.
Available Friday 28 January.

What should I say more. !*drool*! !*YAAA*! !*drool*! !*salute*!

When clicking onto the link on their page "railsimulator.com" it redirects you to the page of the initial SD70ACE pack.
So I hope this will become a free addon just as it was with the Dash9. !*salute*!

EDIT: If you read the text closer, I think one can say that it'll become an extra addon you'll have to pay for. *!sad!*
But well for such a variety I'm willing to pay. !!howdy!!

They've really outdone themselves with this one. I thought we were only getting one new locomotive and repaint but two new locos and 4 paint schemes? This is great! !*YAAA*!

On a side note, now someone needs to do a vomit bonnet repaint of the SD70MAC.

#9647 you see in my post there bears the very first experimental BNSF paint scheme which was done to commemorate the merger (It's also the only locomotive with this paint scheme). Most railfans didn't like it though and it got nicknamed the "vomit bonnet". I've also heard it called the barf bonnet as well.

Yeah I agree. I've warmed up to the vomit bonnet the more I've seen it. It can't hope to touch the Warbonnet but it isn't a terrible paint scheme.

Here's some info on BNSF paint schemes if you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bnsf#Public_image

Interesting. All I really see around here is either Heritage II or the current BNSF livery, and once in a while the old blue & yellow SF. I should take my camera and go out to the Alameda Corridor some Sunday afternoon. Hundreds of locomotives and thousands upon thousands of cars! (wagons? *!!wink!!* )

The only line that goes near where I currently live is an ex-ATSF branch line that was bought by the county years ago. They use it to run their light rail passenger service now. However BNSF still holds trackage rights on the line so sometimes late at night they'll send a short local freight train down the tracks. Is still remember back when I was a little kid though and ATSF still owned the line they used to send good sized freight trains through our area quite often. My uncle even told me about when he was younger, one of the Santa Fe engineers working the line actually let him come aboard and ride up in the cab for the day. You know they'd probably never do that today and it really makes me wish I had been born about 10 or 15 years earlier than I was. *!lol!*
