A wise man once told me that the best way to start out modeling for Railworks is by starting small.

Such as a small scenery object.

Originally I tried out by trying to build a steam locomotive for the game and got stumped.

Then later I tried building a diesel locomotive and got stumped again.

You would be wise to first build some scenery to start learning the basics of Railworks so that later you will be able to build a locomotive much easier. Believe me, the blueprint stage is harder then building the locomotive and that in itself is hard enough.

I have since then just stuck with building scenery and just keep getting bigger and bigger by what I build. Now I have advanced enough to where I'm now building skyscrapers.
Long live the metropolis and big cities of the USA.

Since you are using Blender I just noticed this export tool over at UKTrainsim that may be of use to you.

I've made a few things for Trainz. Not sure if that counts. And I definitively need that export tool!
