Based on my attempts at making rolling stock, the game animates wheels automatically. If you want to animate them yourself, try using key frames. Rotate the wheel along the X-Axis and press I; and choose the "Rotation" option.

You need at least two key frames, one for the first frame and one for the last frame. Once you've done that, you need to export it into an .ia file.

I hope this helps. !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!!

That's right, you should let the game handle wheel animations.
Read the dev docs here in our file library, especially the document about the engine blueprint and the one about the wagon blueprint.

Just to add to what's been said you need to name each wheel so the game knows to animate it.
It's been a while so double check on papas blog but i think they are named bo01wh01, bo01wh02 or with a lod 1_0500_bo01wh01 that way the game knows what the bogie and wheels are to animate them.
Edit; you will also need to know your bogie centre pivot position and wheel centre position for the animations.
Frontrunner in the file library now!
