Already available for purchase, is the EMD F40PH-2CAT EP for the Caltrain Peninsula Corridor. This makes the locomotive perform realistically, uses our same great 16-645E3 EP audio, and adds many specific sounds found only on the Caltrain F40PH-2CATs.

Fading lights, fading flashing ditchlights upgrade for ultimate realism.

Flickering lights on engine start.

Marker lights.

Four fully separate engine audio layers to guarantee the most authentic audio experience possible.

High quality engine audio recorded at 96kHz.

Separate inside and outside recordings ensuring you can feel the classic EMD rumble outside while retaining a quieter comfortable work environment within the cabin.

Nathan P2 and K2 Air-Chimes provided by The Audio Shack.

Dynamic EMD Air Bell.

Horn supression system.

Advanced, dynamic EMD style exhaust effects depending on various conditions.

New truck running sounds including high stress squeal and wheel slip sounds when outputting large amounts of tractive effort at low speed.

Dynamic brake grid blower sounds that vary with grid current that provide a direct feedback to train performance.

New interior sounds including various switches, throttle and reverser movement sounds, internal relays, contactors and air sounds.

Custom light enhancement.

4K Cab texture enhancement by Martin Ashwill.

Different configurations of Driver and No Driver units so that locomotive audio is not impacted by operation from the cab car. NOTE: You will not be able to freely switch between driver version of F40 and no driver Cab Car.

I think its a nice pack for the price.
"If you really needed a diesel locomotive right away, then go ahead and order a ALCO. But if you could wait for real quality, then go for an EMD or a GE".

Nice! Might have to pick this up soon. One question about the horns though, what purpose does the K2 playing in reverse serve? Is it for the cab car?

Its just a feature the real ones have. Naturally, if reality is our model, we shall recreate it.
