MLWAudio/Searchlight Simulations F45 Enhancement Pack

Unread postby BNSFdude » Fri Nov 17, 2017 6:15 pm

As I'm sure you guys have seen, we've been working on an EP for the EMD F45. This will only include changes to the F45 and will not support the currently existing DTM SD45 or SD45T-2.

The pack will include the following:
Locomotive RPM Simulation that uses exact values taken from the prototype per specific situations such as throttle and reverser position. This includes a low idle upon centering of the reverser. Wheelslip and output regulator simulation that reduces tractive effort output and applies sand in order to regain traction. The locomotive also has a simulated transition controller that will automatically change contactors between Series, series-parallel, series-parallel shunt, and parallel throughout the power and speed band of the locomotive. Locomotive isolation switch that allows the user to select which units in a consist are in RUN or ISOLATE. Specific physics sets developed exclusively for the F45. Full engine temperature simulations that will affect the behaviour of the locomotive as it would under real conditions. Full custom light enhancement with brand new fading lights, operating user selectable class lights, and flashing ditch lights where appropriate along with custom EMD style exhaust effects to provide the most authentic experience both visually and audibly.

The supported DLC is of course the BN F45 sold as part of the BNSF pack on Steam, and will include some additions such as:
Original BN order equipped with Headlights and Western-Cullen-Hayes rotary beacon and Leslie S3K horn. (Default DTG model)
Late BN order equipped with nose lights and Prime, Mfg. PM-8911 Stratolite beacon, and Leslie S3K horn.
Montana Rail Link:
390 - Headlights, anticlimber mounted ditchlights, Nathan K5H Horn.
391 and 393 - Nose Lights, pilot face mounted ditchlights, Nathan P5 Horn 391, K5HA 393.
392 - Nose Lights, anticlimber mounted ditchlights, Nathan P5 Horn.
All MRL locomotives are equipped with Flashing Ditchlights that are linked to the bell's operation.
Utah Railway 9013:
Ex-ATSF configuration with antenna platforms, fireman side beacon platform, nose lights, and anticlimber mounted non flashing ditchlights and Leslie RS3L horn.

The following screenshots are works in progress and do not represent the final product:

Will the ditchlights fade in and out when flashing?

That's the idea, yes. The stratolite beacon has the fade effects as well.

Looks like I’ll finally be forced to pick up the F45 pack! I’m very much looking forward to this as nothing beats the roar of a 20-645E3.

Thanks to DTG bundling the F45, I got it for free. The sounds and physics are horrible. Will look forward to this for the holiday season or anytime! !*YAAA*!
