Ah yes, if you refer to the manual you will find that the engine speed will be held to Notch 2 levels until the engine temperature drops below (IIRC) 177 Degrees.

There's all sorts of stuff going in the background to make the things behave as realistically as possible, but it doesn't come without bugs either.

Ah, I see.. so the RPM hanging in idle is a known bug?

I still can't get the engine sounds to work at all in the SD70Pack03 locos, only the SP one.

Sounds in the SH SD70M seem OK, but the gauges don't work. (yes it is the "none-advanced brakes" version)

They don't work because there's no script to power them anymore. It's been mentioned a couple times for the other packs too...

I see. Should they still be listed as compatible locos then? IMO they shouldn't.

They are compatible for the sounds. The gauges just don't work.

Right, but it's not compatible if it breaks a key part of the simulation. I'm sure I'm not alone in that thinking.

Doesn't the pack set you up with the original models and a duplicate set w/sounds, or am I mistaken?

You get both versions. One with the advanced brakes in-place and one without but some people can't read apparently.

Then why do you pick them? Just use the default ones.

Wait, I'm confused, what do you mean by "the default ones?" I've tried all the UP (SH) SD70s and the gauges don't work on any of them.

Also, did you just accuse me of not reading? That's extremely insulting. I tried each loco including the non-advanced brakes version.

Each package comes with a manual/guide that gets installed in the Manuals folder under the Train Simulator main folder, iirc.

Understood, but the manual doesn't go into detail about compatibility with gauge functionality or which locos work (should be used) or which should not. It's basically just a few pages from an actual sd70 manual followed by a page of credits...

It actually isn't from the 70MAC. I wrote it to look like one.

OK, so did I just miss the relevant section in the manual? If I did I apologize, I flipped through it but I admit I may have missed something.
