MLWAudio/Searchlight Sims GE Evolution Series sound set

Unread postby BNSFdude » Wed Jul 13, 2016 9:44 pm

"When are you going to release something and quit making vaporware?"
The answer to your question lies in wait. The Dash 9 is quintessentially done, we're just waiting on Mike to do Brake Physics for us.
In the mean time, I've been tinkering with GEVO-12 sounds and traction motor recordings I've been able to obtain and have come up with a complete set.

The GEVO-12 set is just about done, with some minor Lua tweaks to be made yet. We plan on releasing this one without Advanced Braking to alleviate the dwell time on my hard drive.

It'll support the following:
Marias and Stevens Pass ES44DC, with additional bin clones and changed physics to represent ES44ACs in the 58-6200 class and ES44C4's in the whatever scattered class that those dumb things are in.
NS ES44 Heritage Pack. The 8101 will feature a crisp and clean K5HLM.
CSX ES44AH.
UP Sherman Hill C45ACCTE *
CMP CP ES44AC *
NS Coal District ES44AC *
CN ES44AC because TheCanadianRail won't let me get away without supporting it.

*May sacrifice advanced brake functionality, tbd.

It'll have a later raised letter K5HL with a 1 Piece 1L, the early K5HL with a 2-Piece 1L (the smooth sounding ones), a K5LA for the off chance that someone decides to run a ES44AH as a CSX ES40DC. Graham White E-BELL as standard, late GE air bell paired with the K5LA.

All of the engine recordings are 100% original, under a full load, recorded either by myself or Josh Byers and have been made to be as genuine as possible to reality based upon numerous hours of cab experience amongst just about every Evolution Series locomotive.

Here's an audio sample I just cooked up off of the simulator while in an ES44AH:

And here's the latest twitch stream video running an ES44DC skip to 3:41:

Your soundset makes TheAudioShack's sound like crap. This sound pack will also feature new physics except the braking correct, and support the standalone BNSF H2 ES44DC and the NS 8101 in the new SD40-2 High Nose Pack?

I won't be fussing with the older Kuju models for the most part.

Will any of these be transferable to the Amtrak Dash 8? Do you plan to do anything for the Amtrak F59Phi?

GE FDL and EVO sounds are wildly different, knowing Woody he's doing a separate soundpack for the P42s/32s.... *hint*

I am not talking about the Kuju model. The H2 ES44DC I mentioned was released at the same time as the Pacific Surfliner in Oct. 2013. The Hi-Nose SD40-2 I talked about was released 2 years ago.

The H2 ES44DC will certainly be included.

I'm going to be honest, TheAudioShack's sounds are really good, but just by listening to these, these sounds are killer!

Yeah sorry guys. I had just got off a train and was tired when I answered.
BNSF ES44DC H2 will be included. That'll have a sweet early K5HL on it.
I didn't realize the 8101 got repackaged in with the High Nose or whatever SD40-2? Regardless, I did the heritage pack one already, and it isn't hard to add the functionality to the standalone too.

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. Just like the 645 set.
"If you really needed a diesel locomotive right away, then go ahead and order a ALCO. But if you could wait for real quality, then go for an EMD or a GE".

According to At The Railyard's NS Coal District review, it is packaged in.
