I know many of you want to create a prototypical / semi proto route with real world terrain, place decals from google earth and so on. However stuff like, NED 1/3 Arc second, BILxSRTM, USGS Seamless viewer, decal and markers, well they do sound kinda hard to grasp dont they

This tutorial WILL NOT show you how to lay track, place signals, weld, cut, join or grade track....
however......
This tutorial show you step by step how I just now, two days ago, set up my own route project for TS2012, the Conrail Chicago Lines. I have included screenshots / images and marked them with pointing "sticks" and cirlces to make it clear what buttons to push and where they are.
1. The tutorial starts up with how to set up your/my route, using RWTools V3, developer folder, how to set up sub folders, template route setup as well as direct route setup.
2. Then we move on to the scary stuff like, terrain DEM, srtm, BILxSRTm NED, seamless viewer, 1/3 Arc second.......
" The route start tile is Blue Island Il, wich is an extremely flat country side for showing you how to import terrain

3. The tutorial ends with how to place markers and decals using RWDecal
In short, thats it basically !
I have included some tips on how to further improve your route project, like where to get cabride dvd`s, some really good links there by the way.. I know i know, its the usual rail dvd sites, but i did say they where good didnt i

I wrote the tutorial as easy as i know how, you cant
go/do wrong if you just follow along the 36 steps.
But please remember, TS2012 is brand new, with, lets
face it, some bugs.. There might be strange things
going on all of a sudden while building your route. Just
remember to SAVE OFTEN !

Also, read everything that is written ! Its there
for a reason.
You will be creating prototypical routes in no time.

Best of luck to you !
