That building in photo #1 sure looks like a classic brick NP station! Livingston?

This route seems to come along rather nicely.
Love those wide vistas.
Any ETA prognosis?

Nice looking route, Buzz. You're coming along nicely.

There is a good place to eat at the Livingston Depot, I think it was called the Beanery when I visited. I had a good breakfast there several times while MRL ran a railroad museum of an operation just outside the windows. The solid SD40/45 helper sets were quite exciting to see. It seems like the attack on Bozeman Hill began right in front of the depot. It was a nice place to be a casual railfan.

Thanks Buzz!! It was a fun model to build too. Very challenging.

I don't believe Butte is on the MRL. I think that's UP territory.

That's not true, It's part of the old NP Line and the MRL goes from Huntley, Montana to Spokane, Washington. I know because I lived there and had a tour done. Here's the current route map from the MRL Website.

So I looked at he map. UP comes from the South into Butte. BNSF comes from the North. Yes we have the tracks from Huntley to Spokane. No Butte. Google railroads running to Butte.

Unfortunately, the map does a poor job of suggesting the MRL goes to Butte(?). It was, however, the NP Pipestone Pass line. Judging by the map, the MRL operates the east end of the line from Logan out to Spire Rock, and the BNSF has the west side, from Garrison down to Butte. Bing Maps shows that the Pipestone Pass line appears to be railbanked, and is not shown on the MRL system map. Just draw a squiggly line from Spire Rock to Butte and you'll pretty much have the idea.

If you want Butte, for the time being, you'll have to go back to MSTS. ;)
