Short and simple guide to reduce stutter

Short and simple guide to reduce stutter

Follow this short guide to make your TSW run smooth ( using using a 60Hz monitor ). Hardware does come into play here, but TSW stutters on any pc configuration anyway so. I hope the following guide will help those who are struggling with performance even on High End PC builds like my own. I can run TSW with everything maxed out thanks to the latest patch. Ultra or not this method should help regardless of what settings you are using. Testing out various settings on my system ( see signature ) I found that lowering the graphics did not help with getting rid of the stuttering. My PC build is pretty beefy and although I gained FPS when lowering settings, the stuttering remained regardless of graphics and resolution changes. The solution = VSYNC ( Adaptive -Half refresh rate )

Please note. Im using a curved UltraWide gaming monitor running the sim at a resolution of 3440x1440. Im not sure what DTG did with the latest update ( upgraded to Unreal Engine 4.16 was enough perhaps ), but now we can finally make use of the Adaptive VSYNC making the simulator run almost perfect. Using Adaptive VSYNC on previous TSW builds did not help, now it does. Its always a good idea to restart your computer before running TSW.

In short
Make sure your gaming monitor is running at 60Hz
Using NVIDIA control panel. Select Manage 3D settings, hit program settings, click add and find your TSW installation directory. Point to the file named TS2Prototype.exe ( Application )
You will then be presented with the following view:

Now fire up TSW , see screenshots for settings used.

Its important to disable the the in-game VSYNC option, as we will be relying on NVIDIA`s own Adaptive VSYNC. Make sure you limit your FPS to 30 using the Max FPS slider. You should now be able to run the game with almost no stuttering, this includes meeting an AI. Although this method makes for smooth gameplay, you will still notice the occasional stutter, especially down in the Cumberland area. Using VSYNC is nothing new, but this method of disabling the ingame option and relying on NVIDIA`s own Adaptive version made TSW more enjoyable to run.

I will update this post if any of you have ways to even further the performance in TSW. Let me know.

Hope this helps someone. Have fun!
